Suffolk Wool Towns
Suffolk grew extraordinarily wealthy from its production and trade of woollen cloth. This wealth was used to build some of the finest timber framed houses in the country. Many of which are in villages and towns close to Bachelors Lodge
Thetford Forest
High Lodge at Thetford Forest offers a fantastic opportunity for natural cycling. There are both cycling and mountain bike trails and both prove great fun for both adults and children.
Fry Art Gallery
The Fry Public Art Gallery houses an impressive number of paintings, illustrations, wallpapers and decorative designs by artists of the 20th century and present day from Saffron Walden and surrounding areas.
Gainsborough House
Gainsborough’s house is the birthplace of one of the leading English painters, Thomas Gainsborough. The house is now a Museum and Gallery located in the Suffolk town of Sudbury.
Bury St Edmunds
The town is over flowing with history, independent shops, restaurants and beautiful architecture. The medieval grid is stunning.
The most famous landmark are its impressive Abbey ruins and adjoining gardens that now house the Cathedral and St Marys Suffolk’s biggest parish church.
Cambridge
Cambridge is one of the most beautiful cities in the Country to visit with many sights to see including the stunning architecture of the university Colleges best seen from a tour in one of the many punts to be found on the River Cam or hire your own and enjoy a picnic on the famous ‘Backs’ of the colleges.
